Forever

This is another page that I've entered into a contest. This is the same contest as the last one. Each month the website creates a page that we then create however we want, as long as we keep the layout. I don't care if I ever win. What I enjoy doing is the pages. I plan to use these monthly contest/challenges that the site puts out, to create a page using pictures from the past.

Since Bryan and I were married 7 years, this month, I thought it would be appropriate and fun to use pictures from that special day.

Out-smarted?

Megan has always been a very picky eater. There are many times she would rather go hungry then eat what has been prepared for her. Bryan and I have tried a variety of techniques to possibly get the point across that this is what you eat or you go hungry. Techniques such as: 1-If she chooses not to eat her dinner at dinnertime she will see this food in the morning for breakfast and any meal following that until she has eaten it. 2-Ask her what she wants to eat out of the food that has been prepared for her and only give her what she asks for. Many times she still doesn't eat it and we go to technique #1. 3-Make her sit there for quite some time until she eats it or until we feel that has been long enough. 4-Set a timer and tell her she needs to be done by the time the timer goes off, or else.....

Tonight was another night of battle with dinner. She would not eat. This would make about the 3rd night in a row. We gave her two choices. 1- eat your dinner before bed, or 2- sit there until you are done. Even if it means mom and dad are already in bed. It came time for scriptures, prayer, and story time in preparation for bed. Megan was still sitting at the table through these events. It was my turn to read Daniel stories. Bryan headed downstairs. As I was leaving Daniel's room, after reading stories and tucking him into bed, I was surprised to see Megan's door closed with the light on. I'm thinking, "Did she really eat it?" As I peeked into the kitchen I saw that her plate was on the counter and it was empty. Again I was thinking, "Wow, she actually ate it. That technique actually worked. Maybe it won't take so long next time." I was still somewhat skeptical. So I took a trip to the sink and looked in. What did I find? Her dinner. She had quickly and extremely quietly, cleaned her plate into the sink and came upstairs. I did not hear a sound of this. I have never known either one of the kids to do something this quiet.

Before I approached Megan, I had to come and tell Bryan about it and see what he thought we should do. We have absolutely no idea what to do about this. I think we have been out-smarted by a 3-year-old.
